History
AlphaShield was established in June 2000 as Saafnet Canada Inc.
(Saafnet), a privately held Canadian Corporation. Saafnet began
operations as a research and development company that focused
primarily on “Network Security Solutions” with a specific goal
of developing a Hardware Internet security device. Saafnet initially
developed a functional prototype and filed its first patent
application in June 2001. Throughout 2001 Saafnet continued its
market research and product development while attending major retail
tradeshows. It gained immediate recognition by winning awards based
upon its patent pending technology, which features a physical
disconnection switch within the hardware security device.
During this market research and product development phase, Saafnet
licensed and added a new technology component to the existing product,
which further enhanced its security features. Today’s product, known as
the AlphaShield, incorporates three powerful technologies: the AlphaGAPTM
(original Patent Pending technology), Real-Time Packet Authorization (RPA),
and IP Stealth. All three technologies create the derivative works that are
solely owned by Saafnet and are submitted in our second Patent application
that was filed in the U.S., Canada and internationally by PCT.
In 2002, Saafnet launched its retail market strategy and re-branded the
company and its product as AlphaShield. The AlphaShield Hardware Firewall
provides the best protection to computer users in the world today. Since
2005, AlphaShield has distributed its Professional Edition Hardware Firewall
with a Dynamic Configuration Utility and bundled anti-virus software to
secure your system. In early 2007, AlphaShield announced plans for a new
line of gigabit wireless and wired routers known as the AlphaGigabit Series.
The AlphaGIGABIT router offers ideal networking products to a number of
markets including Gamers, home users, SOHOs and businesses who want stronger
connectivity, faster access, broader Wi-Fi reach and greater security from
their wireless Internet connection. It brings an enterprise level of routing
to the consumer market, and its innovative qualities are reflected in it
being awarded the 2007 newstips Cherrypicks award at the Consumer Electronics
Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since the beginning, AlphaShield engineers have
made additional innovations to the company’s products. Since establishing
itself in the marketplace, AlphaShield’s quality products, affordability,
reliability, customer service, technical support and ease of use for
non-technical users has helped us build a loyal base of satisfied customers.
In 2004, the company was honoured with a BC Exporters Award as one of the top
21 Exporters in British Columbia.

AlphaShield’s headquarters are located in Vancouver, British Columbia
Canada. Alphashield has established a global presence, reaching the
early stages of international distribution to the United States,
Israel, Australia, Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan,
China, India and The United Arab Emirates.
